How to get your work published in the Passepar2 SHORT STORY BOOK
Join this group.
Commit to write Monday through Friday for the month of March, 2011.
If you wrote every weekday and want to submit a short story you wrote during that time, put all the chapters in one post here on Passepar2.com. Please only submit ONE story.
Include the word count in the title of the post (i.e. Peacock Feathers, 2,754 Words).
Leave a comment on the post March Submissions (which will show up on the site on March 1st) with a link to your submission by 12 midnight Pacific, April 4th. Stories added after that deadline will be removed. Voting/Favoriting ends on April 10, midnight.
Use the “March 2011 Submission” category on your post.
A SHORT STORY SUBMISSION IS:
~ Minimum 2,000 Words
~ Maximum 10,000 Words
~ 0-5 Chapters
~ NOT Poetry or Prose
Spread the word about your submission! Invite your friends and other writers to come and read the entries and favorite your work! Feel free to favorite other submissions as well. Keep track of which stories are on top (near the top of the right sidebar). Voting/Favoriting ends on April 10th, midnight Pacific.
The most favorited works will be included in the book, PP2 Short Stories, March 2011, available through print-on-demand and edited by Leah Peterson, host of the PP2 Writing Group website. .
1. Does it have to be something I wrote in the month of March 2011 or can I put something up I did awhile ago?
We’d probably never know if you did that. But, it wouldn’t be in the spirit of the contest and that would make your insides feel sad.
2. Can I pay you some money and get my story in the book even if it wasn’t a top voted/favorited piece?
No. Sorry. Nope.
3. Do I really have to write every weekday for the WHOLE MONTH?
Yes. That is part of what makes this so awesome. You have to complete the challenge to be entered. Just think of the sense of accomplishment you’ll feel when you’re done!
